America Connects Consortium The America Connects Consortium (ACC) supports the work of more than 400 community technology centers (CTCs) across the country. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, ACC provides technical assistance, training, evaluation, resource development, and supports the use of information technology to improve adult literacy and achievement in education. |
Connected Communities Connected Communities provides consulting and facilitation services to cities and counties and has worked with cities, counties, and regions ranging in size from 19,000 people to 800,000. Their mission is to help communities take advantage of high-speed communications services to strengthen the local economy and quality of life.

Illinois Valley Community Response Team The Illinois Valley Community Response Team (CRT) evolved from the Illinois Valley Economic Committee, founded in 1970 to assist the Illinois Valley to improve the economy of the area. After completion of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis in 1989 and the first strategic plan in the early 1990's, economic diversity again became a priority for the area.

Sunny Wolf Community Response Team Members of the CRT and other residents of the Sunny Valley/Wolf Creek community collaborated during the planning process to formulate a vision of the community for the year 2010. They considered the unique aspects of Sunny Valley/Wolf Creek, their hopes and wishes for the community, preferences for how the community would look in the future, who would work there, and who would live there. The CRT created a comprehensive vision statement which describes all infrastructure and appearance, and general quality of life.

CEO Forum on Education and Technology The CEO Forum on Education and Technology was founded in the fall of 1996 to help ensure that America's schools effectively prepare all students to be contributing citizens and productive workers in the 21st Century. To meet this objective, the Forum will issue an annual assessment of the nation's progress toward integrating technology into American classrooms through the year 2000.

Educational Cyber Playground The Educational CyberPlayGround began in 1997 when I recognized the need for a place for newbies to start. It was also a great place to house the custom curriculum delivered by the Internet, and a place for all of us to play in cyberspace. That's where I got the idea of a CyberPlayGround, no boundaries, no walls, where Adults can come to play. This is the place for Life Long Learners. |

Assessing E-Government: The Internet, Democracy, and Service Delivery by State and Federal Governments In this report, we review the current condition of e-government. Using a survey of state and federal chief information officers, a detailed analysis of 1,813 state and federal government websites, and an email response test, we studied what kinds of features are available on-line, what kinds of variation exists across the country as well as between state and national government sites, and how e-government sites respond to citizen requests for information. The analysis was undertaken during Summer, 2000

Employment and Training Administration - e-Government strategies. The Employment and Training Administration has begun the process of developing a strategy for e-government. Success will depend as much on collaboration among people, offices and partners as it will on resources. The key to success depends on the development of a shared vision, and strategy for implementing that vision among ETA and all of its state and local partners and stakeholders in America's Workforce Network. Towards that end, ETA is committed to a consultive process designed to engage our partners and stakeholders fully in the development and implementation of a successful e-government strategy.
