Team using Qwest network sets record
An international team used Qwest's fiber-optic network to set a new Internet land speed record.
The team transferred data across about 6,800 miles between Los Angeles and Geneva at an average rate of 6.25 gigabits per second, nearly 10,000 times faster than a typical home broadband connection. The Internet2 Land Speed Record is an open and ongoing competition.
